I am looking for two postdoctoral researchers to work in my laboratory at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (Barcelona) on:
- mechanobiology of tumour-stroma interactions
- mechanics of three-dimensional epithelial sheets.
The scope of the positions is quite open and the project will be agreed with the candidate according to background and research interests. Projects will involve tools to measure and perturb cell mechanics (traction microscopy, monolayer stress microscopy, optogenetics, laser ablation and micropatterning) and advanced imaging (confocal, light sheet, STORM imaging). Experimental models will span different levels of complexity from cell monolayers to organotypic 3D systems and organoids.
We are looking for candidates with a PhD in biology/biochemistry/physics/engineering. Previous experience in biophysical/biomechanical setups at the cell and/or tissue levels will be greatly appreciated (but not strictly required).
We offer a 3 year contract in a stimulating, interdisciplinary, and high quality international scientific environment. Salary will be determined upon experience and scientific background. The successful candidates will start in 2018, ideally before/during summer.
Candidates interested should send their application to:
